A project by Keri Latimer, with co-pilots Mama Cutsworth and Tanja Faylene Woloshen óFukami invites you to the official launch of When the Future Tried to Take Me, her debut album of exploratory music for theremin and voice. A night of experimental sound, movement, and dance between worlds awaits. Japanese Irish Canadian artist Keri Latimer brings her theremin and voice into the room as óFukami, performing pieces from her new experimental album. These new works are heard alongside a pensive performance of butoh inspired dance. Butoh is a Japanese contemporary dance form sometimes called the dance of darkness). Together, butoh dancer, creator, and collaborator Tanja Faylene Woloshen and óFukami combine forces in their joint music and dance work, H3LD. It is out of this world. Winnipeg's beloved DJ and producer Mama Cutsworth joins as co-pilot for a live collaboration before taking the decks for a sci-fi dance party to close the night. Featuring timelapse visuals by Joel Penner. Sci-fi, fantasy, and time travel attire warmly encouraged. Come as whoever you'll be in another century.
